PRESS RELEASE

Seaports of Niedersachsen and the Institute for Economic Education

The "Maritime Economy and Logistics" educational project was launched in 2006. Since then, it has provided teachers with workbooks, digital modules and an online portal for teaching economics. These resources were developed to illustrate economic concepts using examples from the North German ports and to establish links to the regional and national economic environment. At the same time, pupils are given an insight into career opportunities within the industry. These resources were developed in collaboration with the Institute for Economic Education (IÖB) and provide valuable support for the classroom.

🌱 This collaboration enables us to provide content and insights from the world of seaports and logistics in order to give pupils a sound understanding of economic relationships.

📚 the annual project meeting, the participants looked back proudly on the achievements to date and agreed that the work should continue for a long time to come. Various measures are planned for 2024, including the revision and digitalization of the popular "Economy in the Port" workbook for secondary school pupils. In addition, linguistically simplified supplementary materials and new online modules for upper secondary level are to be developed.

🚀 We are excited about the opportunity to contribute to economic education and inspire the next generation of leaders and innovators. A big thank you to the Institute for Economic Education for their partnership!
