In November 1964, Anker Schifffahrt set up in the Emden seaport to take on the VW shipment of the legendary “Beetle” for the North American market. Over the following years, the company continuously expanded its activities. By the end of the 1970s, for example, automobile handling was expanded to include the handling of timber imports. Anker Schifffahrt is one of the most important cargo handling companies in the port of Emden.
