Anne Janssen, the new chairwoman of the CDU/CSU parliamentary group on the coast, visited the seaport of Emden. Representatives of the Emder Hafenförderungsgesellschaft e. V. (EHFG) showed the member of the Bundestag from Wittmund the outer and inland port with its handling of cars, forestry products and components for wind energy. However, they also made it clear to the politician that the federal government must support the federal states much more than before in the expansion of the ports. Janssen emphasized that the new federal government intends to invest an additional 400 million euros in climate-friendly shipping and ports over the next four years. This shows that ports and shipping play a very important role for the new federal government and that they are following up their words with action.
