Cooperation opportunities explored
The ports in Emden and the district of Leer want to work more closely together. This was confirmed by Timo Siebahn, Manfred de Vries and Reinhard Hegewald from Emder Hafenförderungsgesellschaft e. V. during a visit by Reiner Graalmann and Arne Woldenga from Hafenwirtschaftsvereinigung Landkreis Leer e. V., which represents the seaport of Leer, the ports of Borkum, Ditzum, Oldersum, Weener, Jemgum, EmsPort in Leer-Nord and port-related businesses in the ports. The discussion between the port representatives, which took place in the “Alter Zollhaus” at the Große Seeschleuse in Emden, focused on the effects of the “Ems Master Plan” on both ports. Opportunities for cooperation in cargo handling were also explored. The next meeting is planned for the beginning of 2025 in Leer.
