J. Müller Weser is continuing to expand its breakbulk operations at its Brake location. The family-owned company is making targeted investments to expand its handling capacity at the seaport of Brake—including investments in modern handling equipment and in strengthening its team.
Sven Riekers (51) is the newest addition to the J. Müller Weser team in Brake. A native of Bremen, he is moving to Brake from a company in the port industry in Bremen and will be joining the existing Breakbulk sales team, where Jörg Kaplan has served as a manager for many years.
In addition to his role in sales, Riekers, as Head of Logistics, is responsible, among other things, for the strategic development of the agency and inland waterway chartering divisions. Furthermore, Sven Riekers has been appointed managing director of B-Log GmbH, a joint venture between the L.I.T. Group and J. Müller Weser GmbH & Co. KG.
Jan Müller, CEO of J. Müller SE, welcomes the new addition: “Despite the current economic challenges, we are confident in the long-term potential of the breakbulk market and are consistently expanding our capacity at the Brake location. We intend to actively offer these expanded capabilities to the market. We are therefore very pleased to have recruited Sven Riekers, a proven expert in the port and logistics industry, to our company, as he will strengthen our expertise in the long term.”
The Brake location offers further growth opportunities. Together with the port operator Niedersachsen Ports, J. Müller Weser is working to lay the groundwork for further growth in the breakbulk business and to be able to respond flexibly to future market demands.
