PRESS RELEASE

MEYER WERFT has completed the first components for the 900 MW DolWin delta converter platform just a few months after the start of production. The components are now on their way to Cadiz, Spain, where the platform will be completed at the Dragados yard. DolWin delta is the first converter platform to be manufactured in Germany for many years. With this order, MEYER WERFT is taking another important step in its entry into the new offshore business segment

Thanks to the existing infrastructure in the seaport and inland harbour of Papenburg - Germany's southernmost seaport - the components can be transported easily and efficiently by sea. This is the only way to ensure that the shipments can leave MEYER WERFT on time.

DolWin delta is the first of four converter platforms that MEYER WERFT is manufacturing in large part on behalf of Dragados Offshore. The end customer and subsequent operator is the German transmission system operator Amprion.

Amprion Offshore GmbH commissioned Dragados Offshore and Siemens Energy to build the platforms around two years ago. The consortium awarded parts of the production to Meyer Werft at the end of 2023. The scope of work for the production of platform components at Meyer Werft amounts to around 43,500 tonnes of steel. Of this, around 11,500 tonnes will be used to manufacture sections for the 900 MW DolWin4 and BorWin4 projects. The figure for the 2 GW BalWin1 and BalWin2 platforms is around 32,000 tonnes.
