Port managers prepared trade fair participations
The location managers of Niedersachsens seaports met in Emden at the invitation of Emder Hafenförderungsgesellschaft e. V.. Under the leadership of Andreas Bullwinkel, Managing Director of Seaports of Niedersachsen GmbH, they prepared the ports' marketing activities for the rest of this year and also for 2025.
"The main events on the agenda for this autumn are the "Niedersächsische Hafentag" on September 6 in Nordenham and the "WindEnergy" from September 24-26 in Hamburg," explained Bullwinkel after the meeting in the "Altes Zollhaus" at the Große Seeschleuse.
Next year, the ports of Lower Saxony want to showcase their range of services at "WindEurope" in Copenhagen, "Intermodal South America" in Sao Paulo, "Breakbulk" in Rotterdam and the "Transport Logistics Fair" in Munich. "Our participation in the major international trade fairs in particular requires a long lead time," said Bullwinkel, explaining the reasons for the consultation. According to the port managers, the trade fairs are very important for Lower Saxony's seaports, which have already exhibited in Bilbao, Rotterdam, Sao Paulo and Shanghai this spring. At the beginning of the meeting, Emden's port manager Reinhard Hegewald presented the port of Emden and its most important cargoes to the guests from Brake, Cuxhaven, Nordenham, Papenburg and Wilhelmshaven.
Bullwinkel described Emden's development plans for its inland and outer ports as "groundbreaking" for the success of the energy transition. The port experts agreed that the federal government must finally declare its willingness to provide massive financial support for the necessary expansion steps in all ports on the North Sea coast. "Otherwise the energy transition won't happen," predicted Bullwinkel.
