Tom Brodersen Appointed New Managing Director of J. Müller Chartering GmbH
As of September 1, 2025, Tom Brodersen has taken over as Managing Director of J. Müller Chartering GmbH. The 42-year-old, who lives in Husum, has been active in the shipping industry for almost two decades – ten of those years as Managing Director. With his expertise in corporate management, chartering, shipping company operations, as well as customs and agency matters, he brings extensive know-how to the young company.
“After 18 years with my previous employer, I was looking for the challenge of helping to build a new business under the umbrella of a strong corporate group such as J. Müller. Together with my colleagues, we want to connect cargoes and vessels as an independent broker and develop sustainable partnerships,” says Brodersen.
Alongside Brodersen, the company’s management team also includes Clemens Sommerfeld, who is also Managing Director of J. Müller Weser GmbH & Co. KG, as well as authorized signatories (Prokuristen) Karsten Bolles and Jörg Lampe. Mr. Bolles, who had provisionally taken over management during the founding phase, will now focus on sales development.
“With Tom Brodersen, we have gained a highly competent industry expert who will strategically develop J. Müller Chartering GmbH and firmly establish it in the market,” emphasizes Sommerfeld.
The company is headquartered in Brake and also operates a branch office in Emden to ensure proximity to customers and strong regional ties.
