Cuxport ships the two millionth car for a premium manufacturer
The port services provider Cuxport handled the two millionth car for the BMW Group at the RoRo berth no. 2 in Cuxhaven on Thursday 29 August. The vehicle, which had earlier arrived by rail, was transported on board the Jutlandia Seaways vessel belonging to the DFDS shipping company at about midday. The guests attending the ceremony included the Mayor of Cuxhaven, Dr Ulrich Getsch, and Enak Ferlemann, Parliamentary Secretary of State at the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure. Representatives from the world of business, the UECC and DFDS shipping companies as well as the DB Cargo Logistics railway services provider and Hödlmayr International were present to witness the handling procedure too.

Cuxhaven Port Authority (HWG) on 1 July 2019, for which the HWG management board invited Michael
Körber, Head of Customer Management and Northern Regional Timetable at DB Netz, to attend.

Cuxhaven, 22 November 2018 - China's mega project, the New Silk Road, is to intensify international trade between Asia and Europe in the long term through a stronger infrastructure. The project also offers new opportunities for the Port of Cuxhaven. Due to the increasing demand in the United Kingdom for goods from China, the HWG member DFDS A/S has now established the last link of the transport chain between Great Britain and China via Cuxhaven.

Berlin/Cuxhaven, 16 October 2018 - As a major port for traffic to the United Kingdom (UK) as well as for the international fishing industry, Cuxhaven is expected to be strongly affected by the UK's withdrawal from the European Union. For this reason, the Cuxhaven Port Association (Hafenwirtschaftsgemeinschaft Cuxhaven) hosted a parliamentary evening in Berlin on Monday, 15 October 2018. The aim was to intensify preparations for the changes that will take place on 29 March 2019, together with representatives from government, administration and the business community.
Cuxhaven receives heavy cargo delivery from Esbjerg
Project cargo from Denmark reaches Cuxhaven by sea in just six hours
Cuxhaven, 27 September 2018 – On its daily short-sea route between Immingham and Cuxhaven, the "Jutlandia Seaways" operated by shipping company DFDS A/S, called at the Danish port of Esbjerg for the first time in August. The cargo, which was picked up there, was destined for the Siemens Gamesa plant in Cuxhaven and could no longer travel by road due to its dimensions.
Cuxport’s new berth no. 4 is the installation port for the Deutsche Bucht wind farm
Even before it has been officially opened, berth no. 4 at the Cuxport Terminal in Cuxhaven is already the location for its first offshore project.
Cuxport is supporting Balance of Plant contractor Van Oord at the new heavy-lift berth with a total capacity of 8.5 hectares of space. This is being used to store and tranship the monopiles and transition pieces for Northland Power’s Deutsche Bucht wind farm, which is currently being built in the German Exclusive Economic zone (EEZ) in the North Sea.
New RoRo service launched between Cuxhaven and the French port of Nantes Saint-Nazaire
RoRo vessels operated by the French shipping company, LD Seaplane, have now started a regular service to the port of Cuxhaven.
The ships, which specialise in operating project cargo, are currently transporting new trucks from France to Cuxhaven for the German market.
Cuxhaven hosts the Maritime Working Group of the ECG
HWG members as well as representatives of shipping companies, ports and the automotive industry discuss the future of automotive logistics
the host city for the Maritime & Ports Working Group of ECG, the European Association for Vehicle Logistics, at the beginning of March. The main topics of the meeting were the relationship between shipping companies, ports, terminal operators and logistics service providers and the role of the ECG as well as the ongoing digitalisation of the supply chain.
