PRESS RELEASE

The global logistics industry will meet at transport logistic in Munich from May 9 to 12 - Political support from Minister Olaf Lies and the Ports & Shipping Subcommittee of the Niedersachsen State Parliament

More than 100 representatives from 33 sub-exhibitors will be on hand at the 270 m² stand to showcase the strengths of Niedersachsens port cluster in cargo handling and connecting companies to global markets. The ports of Brake, Cuxhaven, Emden, Leer, Nordenham, Oldenburg, Papenburg, Stade and Wilhelmshaven are strategically located in the heart of Europe with good connections to major shipping routes and transport networks. The strength of this cluster is its versatility, as the ports include solid, as well as liquid bulk, Ro/Ro, project cargo and containers, as a result of which the Universal Port of Niedersachsen recorded a 6% increase in throughput even in a crisis-ridden 2022.

transport logistic is the world's largest trade fair for logistics and mobility. In 2023, it will be held again in Munich after a four-year break, attracting more than 64,000 visitors from 125 countries. The show offers more than 2,000 exhibitors from over 60 countries 110,000 m² of space in 10 halls to showcase their latest products and services, including cargo handling equipment, transportation software, logistics management systems and much more.

"We are pleased that our stand is so well received by the port industry and is used on the one hand as a platform for customer discussions and on the other hand as a meeting point with politicians, such as with Minister Olaf Lies and the Ports and Shipping Subcommittee," explains André Heim, Managing Director Seaports of Niedersachsen GmbH.

Regionally anchored, nationally significant: Niedersachsens ports play an important role in the energy transition and security of supply in Germany. The port company invested in innovations and port infrastructure at an early stage in order to be able to currently expand capacities for importing energy sources. A comprehensive range of industrial land offers further opportunities for development. "Our sites are logistics centers. They are attractive for all industries that need immediate proximity to the port as well as immediately available, renewable energy," emphasizes Holger Banik, Managing Director of Niedersachsen Ports GmbH & Co. KG and JadeWeserPort Realisierungs GmbH & Co. KG.

Germany's only deep-water container port, JadeWeserPort Wilhelmshaven, will focus its presence in Munich on current developments in both seaward and hinterland rail connections. In addition, the current real estate projects, the status of the areas in the freight traffic center as well as the advantages and development perspectives of the location will be presented.

A further stand partner is the association Logistikportal Niedersachsen e.V., which, as a state-wide logistics network, presents logistics expertise from Niedersachsen together with the logistics regions of Hanover and Göttingen and other exhibitors. For example, Niedersachsens freight traffic centers will highlight the location and networking qualities of Niedersachsen as an intermodal location. Other exhibitors will show the logistical diversity of Niedersachsen and the network - from company health management, innovative services in the areas of archiving and storage and information management, security and logistics services to modern warehouse management systems for all logistics processes.

For the first time, the 'Hafen-trifft-Festland' event will be held at a trade fair jointly organized by JadeWeserPort Wilhelmshaven, Eurogate and Seaports of Niedersachsen in cooperation with TFG Transfracht, Eurogate Intermodal and Nordfrost on May 09.

The focus of the trade fair appearance is the Niedersachsen Evening on May 10, to which Niedersachsens Ministry of Economics, Transport, Building and Digitalization, Seaports of Niedersachsen, JadeWeserPort Wilhelmshaven, NPorts and Logistikportal Niedersachsen e.V. are expecting around 160 guests at Stand No. 313/414 in Hall B4. The reception will be opened by Niedersachsens Minister of Economics, Transport, Building and Digitalization. Minister of Economics Olaf Lies: "Europe, Germany and Niedersachsen are facing the greatest transformation since the industrial revolution! So we are currently building a new country. We have demonstrated to the entire country how this can be done at a new German speed with the LNG terminal in Wilhelmshaven, which was built within four months. And we want to further expand our position as an energy hub for Germany and Europe. Our ports are a central building block in this: here, in the energy policy center of Germany, beats the logistical heart of Europe. With JadeWeserPort, Niedersachsen has the only deep-water container port in Germany. We continue to invest in the state's infrastructure in order to increase the attractiveness of the port and logistics location. Consequently, Niedersachsen is proudly presenting itself in Munich as a future-oriented investment location."

On May 11, graduates of the Department of Maritime Studies at Jade University of Applied Sciences Elsfleth will meet at the Seaports booth.
